Yarrow Point Community

Yarrow Point, located in King County, and the greater Seattle area of the State of Washington, at longitude W122° 13' and latitude N47° 39' about 5 miles from downtown Seattle. The town of Yarrow Point is bordered on three sides by the eastern shoreline of Lake Washington and by the cities of Kirkland, Clyde Hill, Medina and the Town of Hunts Point. This peninsula covers approximately 231 acres, has 4.32 miles of streets, and includes about 405 homes housing an estimated population of 1,018 residents.

The Town of Yarrow Point belongs to A Regional Coalition for Housing, or ARCH. ARCH is an organization created by eastside cities and King County to preserve and increase the supply of housing for low and moderate income households in East King County. Among the coalition's membership are: King County, Bellevue, Redmond, Issaquah, and several other eastside cities.

Yarrow Point Culture

Each year Yarrow Point and Hunts Point host a joint Independence Day celebration, organized by residents of both Towns and funded by private contributions. A tradition since 1976, this fun-filled weekend of events typically features:

• A kick-off party

• An old fashioned parade of adults and kids alike, with homemade floats, decorated bikes and trikes, classic cars, and a Grand Marshal chosen from the community

• Music, food, and beverages galore at the fountain

• Children's games and bingo for all ages at Town Hall

• Fireworks over Cozy Cove for all to enjoy

While one fourth of the homes in Yarrow Point enjoy waterfront locations or water access, the remaining three quarters offer views ranging from territorial to expansive.

   Carpools and bus riders would benefit from the completion of the HOV system and other improvements on State Route 520 from Medina to Redmond, according to an environmental assessment released Thursday by the Washington State Department of Transportation.
